UNBUDGETED INNOCENCE by Gauarv Sharma

Children are the most innocuous of the human beings. They know no pretensions or exaggeration. They are what they look. And as Mr. Gaurav Sharma, the author of “Love @ Airforce”, “Rapescars” , “Dawn at Dusk” sums up, “Childhood is no less than a fairy tale. Even vices like greed, jealousy, and naughtiness are innocent during that period.” Keeping the thoughts in mind, Mr. Sharma decided to pen down different facets of childhood and the brainchild of his thoughts is “Unbudgeted Innocence”. It is a collection of ten stories which cover different elements of childhood and take all of us back to our childhood, our truer self. The first story, THE ABANDONED DOG, showcases children’s love for animals. Through this story, Mr. Sharma tries to convey that children’s love knows no practicality. आकाश अपनी टाई बाँध रहा था जब उसकी पत्नी ने उससे पुछा, “सुनो, मैं मोटी हो गयी हूँ क्या?” आकाश ने घूम कर देखा. उसकी पत्नी सुषमा अपने वेस्टकोट का बटन लगाने की कोशिश कर रही थी. शायद ये किसी भी पति के लिए आगे कुआँ और पीछे खाई वाली बात होती लेकिन आकाश ने कभी अपनी ज़िन्दगी में ऐसे पलों को हावी नहीं होने दिया था. उसने बिना किसी भाव के कहा, “तुम प्रोफेशनल हो. तुम बेहतर जानती हो.” सुषमा ने अपने पति की ओर एक बार देखा और फिर चुपचाप अपना बैग निकालते हुए बोली, “आज मुझे ऑफिस छोड़ दोगे?” “पहले बोलती.” आकाश बस निकलने को था, “आज कहीं जाना है मुझे.” “ठीक है.” कहते हुए सुषमा तेजी से बाहर निकल गयी. न सुषमा कुछ पूछती थी और न आकाश बताने की ज़रूरत समझता था. शायद यही वज़ह थी सुषमा कभी जान नहीं पायी थी कि आकाश वंशिका को भूला नहीं था. आकाश वंशिका की ऑफिस बिल्डिंग के बाहर था. सड़क के एक किनारे अपनी एंडेवर गाड़ी के अन्दर बैठा, ए.सी. ऑन किये उसके बाहर निकलने का इंतज़ार कर रहा था वह. यहाँ आने से पहले, कई बार उसके मन में यह ख्याल आया था कि इस तरह किसी शादीशुदा औरत का पीछा करना गलत है. लेकिन, नैतिकता की तमाम

मिसेज शर्मा परेशान थी. सुबह से शाम होने को आई लेकिन उनकी परेशानी ख़त्म होने का नाम नहीं ले रही थी. आज नवरातों की अष्टमी थी. उन्होंने इस साल इक्कीस कन्याएं जिमाने की मन्नत मानी थी. लेकिन तमाम कोशिशों के बावजूद कन्याएं इकट्ठी नहीं जुट पा रही थी. कुछ साल पहले तक तो कन्याएं खुद ही कॉलोनी के घरों में और आस-पास की सोसाइटीयों में घूमती फिरती थी. अब न जाने क्या हो गया था? मिसेज शर्मा पूरी कोशिश कर रही थी कि उनके मुंह से कोई गलत बात न निकले. लेकिन जब मिस्टर शर्मा पास की ‘अप्सरा सोसाइटी’ से भी अकेले मुंह लटकाए लौट आये तो उनके मुंह से न चाहते हुए भी निकल गया, “क्या हो गया इन मुइयों को? पहले घर-घर छिटकती थी. आज ढूंढें न मिल रही...’ मिस्टर शर्मा घबरा कर बोले, “राम राम! ऐसा न कहो. नवरातों में लडकियां मां का रूप हो जाती है. अरे आज के दिन तो हर घर में कन्या जीमती है न. इसलिए इक्कीस कन्याएं एक साथ आनी मुश्किल हो जाती है. दो तो अपने ही घर में है और पांच-सात तो अपने पड़ोस में है ही. मैंने दो-तीन घरों में और कन्याओं को देखा था. सबको बोल दिया आने को. आ जायेंगी शाम होने से पहले. तुम बस तैयारी पूरी र

हॉरर बोले तो हॉरर...

जब से मार्वल ने मार्वल सिनेमेटिक यूनिवर्स और डीसी ने डीसी एक्सटेंडेड यूनिवर्स शुरू किया है, तब से एडवेंचर सिनेमा पसंद करने वाले सिनेप्रेमियों की बहार आ गयी है. वफादार प्रशंसकों का ऑनलाइन तथा ऑफलाइन घमासान इन्हें फायदा ही पहुंचा रहा है. हालांकि मुद्दे की बात ये भी है कि ये दोनों कम्पनियां दर्शकों को बेस्ट देने की जी तोड़ कोशिश भी कर रही हैं. अब इनके बीच आते है मियां यूनिवर्सल. अब भई, जब ये दोनों अपना अपना यूनिवर्स “लॉन्च” कर चुके है, तो यूनिवर्सल जो कि पहले से ही “यूनिवर्सल” है, वो क्यों पीछे रहे? ना जी, अपना यूनिवर्स लॉन्च करने में कोई बुराई नहीं. लेकिन ये क्या बात हुई कि अभ्यास मैच खेला भी नहीं और सीधा फाइनल में कूद पड़े...? कमोबेश कुछ ऐसा ही, यूनिवर्सल ने “डार्क यूनिवर्स” के साथ किया. अपनी पिछली फिल्मों का रिबूट तैयार कर रिलीज़ करने का एजेंडा बनाये यूनिवर्सल के दिमाग में यही दही जमी थी हुज़ूर, जब जनता बिरयानी पसंद करती हो तो क्या फर्क पड़ता है आज की बनी हो या पिछले इतवार की. लेकिन जनाब, वो ये भूल गए बासी दाल में चाहे जितना भी हींग का तड़का लगा दो, वह रहेगी बासी ही. बासी व्यंजन मे

"Dasharajna" is the third book in Harappa series authored by Shankar N. Kashyap. This is the story based on the main event within the seventh book of Rigveda. It is the story of an epic battle between Sudas of Bharata and Cayamana of Anus leading a confederacy of ten disgruntled Kings. It takes place on the banks of river Ravi. It is also a battle between the two of the most powerful sages of Rigveda. Vasishta and Vishwamitra. Extensive research into the Vedic scriptures and archaeological records have helped create a fascinating insight into the geography of the battle. It is a battle whose result is paradigm shifting in that the outcome decided the future of the great epics of India - Ramayan and Mahabharata. Reading Experience: Enta Habibi by Reetwika Bannerjee

“Enta Habibi” is a beautiful book written by Reetwika Bannerjee. It compiles five beautiful stories which depict different shades and forms of love. There is a story which tells about vengeful love and another one narrates betrayal in love. Then, there is this story which talks about immoral love. Ms. Banerjee has entwined the theme of her stories with Colour Wheel Theory of Love proposed by John Lee. She juxtaposes the colours Blue, Red, Black, Grey and Pink which depict different forms of romance as in – Emerging Love, Failure in Love, Betrayals in Love, Immoral Love and Sweet and Sour Love via the stories “Man of the Tournament”, “Miles Apart”, “Haunted Refuge at Itachuna Royal Palace”, “Two Onions and A Skull” and “Love Just Happened” respectively.
